hi, i ve not read that much about medicines but from what i ve come across over the time i ve been interested in snakes is yes they can help peaple , compounds in snake venom can help prevent growth of cancerous tumors. ACE inhibitors are well known a class of drugs that treat high blood pressure developed by a snakes from brazil. Ancrod and aggrastat contain protien and stop blood from clotting researches have developed anticoagulant drugs.the ancrod comes from the malayn pit viper and the aggastrat is from saw scaled vipers. in china they develop alot of medicine from snakes the first was made from snakes skin that helped eye infections and sore throats they were administed internaly and topicly.
hope this is enough there is more on the net.
 thanks
 SHAUN.

This is just something I heard on TV, but evidently they are using venom compounds to TEST pain killers as well.
