Description: The focus of Fitzgerald's March festival was shifted last year to a celebration of their wild chickens which are believed to be descended from Burmese Jungle Fowl once imported and released in the hopes of creating a new game species. They are very evident as they stroll and peck through the streets of the town. This shift was a result of the continuing efforts of the Georgia DNR, the Georgia Herpetological Society and the Southeastern Hot Herp Society.
