Description: This picture is of a large male C. horridus horridus. It measured 48 1/2 inches from nose to tail and weighed just over 2 lbs. He is still on the prowl in a 60+ acre apple orchard on top of Chimney Rock Mountain in Rutherford County, North Carolina. Six individuals have been captured, marked, and released from this site, all within a 100 yd radius of one another.
This particular snake has been re-captured 4 times since being paint marked.
