Description: Capturing cottonmouths for my population ecology study. Got careless and got bit through the bag taking one of my study animals out of the swamp. Smile is to keep my assistants calm. Barely felt the bite and had no pain at this point. Never found out which one of my snakes it was (have captured more than 50 and PIT tagged over 40). Turned it loose after bite. Got to get to the ER, thankfully only 15 minutes away.
