According to his website, the second edition of Dean's hardbound book is now available.
Although I could not find anything about it on the Cape Fear Serpentarium website, it is described at http://www.lachesismuta.com/
Please feel free to write us a review once you get your copy.
I gave it an "OK" rating as I have not yet seen it and a rating is required to enter a review.

Bushmaster Book -
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

Terry, Dean Ripa is working on a new Hard Cover Bushmaster Book. It is being printed in Hong Kong, and he has not finished making revisions of it yet. He jumped the gun a bit and offered advance sells of the book, then decided to add more due to new research. That upset a few folks who had paid in advance. As far as I know, the CD of the original book is no longer available.
You should probably check the Cape Fear Serpentarium website from time to time, and watch for an announcement as to when the new book will be available. We are all waiting for it to be finished. When it does come out, it should be a fantastic book, and well worth the wait.
Hope this helps. Best Regards John Z

I agree 100%. Awesome book, I have read it over and over. I also need to throw in a good word for Dean's Serpentarium in Wilmington, NC. The best collection of snakes I have ever seen, and more than worth the trip to NC.

An outstanding look at the Bushmaster

Dean Ripa gives us a comprehensive look into the lives of these beautiful and mysterious serpents. Ripa leaves no stone unturned. Every aspect of the bushmaster is discussed in detail including morphological characters, feeding/strike, reproduction, etc... To date I have not been able to find this much information on bushmasters anywhere (let alone in one spot). All of the Lachesis species are covered and Ripa has even included some great info on Bothrops. There are tons of stunning photographs throughout the text. This book is a "must have" for any Lachesis fanatic.
