Well-written important reference

I just finished reading through this book, and have to say it is one of the most well-written books, and it contains much good information on venomous herps.
I rated the book at a 4, as I felt there should be more detailed information about care for certain species. Otherwise, it is an excellent reference!

Must have for serious venomous snake collector

One awesome book for serious venomous snake keeper. The author has full descriptions of 171 different species of venomous snakes including many details on behavior & care in captivity. A topic that you can never have enough of in your book collection. Families Elapidae, Viperdae & Crotalidae are extensively discussed. Sadly, there is no information regarding Rear Fanged snakes in this reference book. The author uses absolutely stunning pictures to help detail subspecies & color variations found in nature. I'd bet my "lung's" that there is at least one color variation or complete species you've never seen before in this book.
