Description: By popular demand, we are proud to introduce a collapsible version of our #1 rated Gentle Giant Tongs. Years of experience and cooperation with some of the world's most recognized snake handling professionals resulted in this revolutionary new tool. You will be amazed by the stylish appearance and flawless performance of this innovative new tool. Compact enough to fit in a suitcase when folded, and stronger than ever in its fully extended form when handling snakes. We kept all the features of regular Gentle Giant Tongs - aircraft grade materials, light in weight, and a wide gentle clamp that spreads out the pressure over the snake's body without causing injury.
In its collapsed form the tong is very comfortable for personal carry. It can be carried on your belt and it unfolds in seconds. Belt Sheath not included.
Check out the experience of Mark O'Shea from Animal Planet who tested this tool in field conditions.

I have owned mine now for over six years. It has not failed in operation yet. I had first thought the cable that controls the gripping action would break or become compromised (frayed) with the constant taking it from the collasped state to the ready-to-use state... But it has not, and shows no signs of wear as of yet. This collaspible gentle giant tong boasts the stronger tubing that Midwest offers as a upgrade/option on the regular non-collasping Gentle Giant tongs.
I have used these tongs in the field with no problems; including in water such as creeks/rivers. Mine has been used with Elapids, Crotalids, and Bitis vipers. I really like it's collaspible feature. I especially take advantage of this feature when space is limited; such as hiking or just packing it in for travel to snake shows. I have yet to have a snake slip out from it's moderate but secure grip. Dana and the rest of the team at Midwest did an excellent job of designing this tool.
