Nice hook

I picked up the Collapsible hook from Midwest for ease of carry. I was very happy with the product. It is not the best tool for flipping tin or boards but that is what a field hook is made for. Over all...you can't go wrong with this item.

Good Hook To Keep In The Car.

This is a nice little hook that you can keep in the car or take into the field with you.
It is light weight, suprisingly strong, and compact.

Totally convenient!!

I have lots of hooks.
One for almost every occasion.
So here I am traveling around the Pacific Ocean in a submarine with almost no room for personal storage. This hook fits just about anywhere and is sturdy enough for just about anything I might find. I wouldn't recommend pinning with it extended but then again I don't usually recommend pinning anyway.
This is quickly becoming my favorite hook.

THE BEST!!!

I have had this hook for around 3 years now. I have used MANY other hooks. But this hook is second to none. It is light weight and easy to use, even on the most aggressive of snakes. I love having the option to make it any length I want. The tapered end is also a great feature, especially for hooking snakes directly off the road. The only issue I have had was recently when I picked up a big HEAVY 5'+ C. Atrox, he actually bent the hook a little, but I don't have the heavy duty one. I will soon though ;). Great hook and fair price for such excellent quality. Every herper shoud own a couple of these.

Collapsable hook
|
Time owned: more than 12 months
|
My #1 hook is my collapsable Midwest model.
Great to travel with in any bag.
Sturdy when expanded and easy to use.
I have the standard model not the heavy duity, so it may rotate but I have not had any problems as long as it is tight enough.
I put rubber surgical tubing on the hook to give a softer more secure grip on the snakes ventral scales. I do not pin snakes the tubing is just my preferance to bare steel that slips on smooth surfaces. The tubing gives the snakes a better grip and some can hold on to it quite well.
I recommend this hook.
