Description: LaCrosse developed these ozone-resistant, 100% waterproof boots with snakeproof rubber for the true outdoorsman. Innovations, such as a modified ankle fit for comfort and support and buckle adjustment to tighten around the calves to seal out moisture, make these a favorite among hunters. Additional features include a full boot heel, fiberglass shank for arch support, removable full cushion insole, nylon net lining, top strap and reinforced toe cap and heel utilizing corrugated rubber. Hunters who demand camouflage from head to toe will love the hand crafted rubber in Mossy Oak Break-Up. These are the ideal boots when it comes to hunting in swampy terrain.

I live in Florida where there are lots of swamps and alot of water. I have tried other snake boots, such as the Rocky brand boots. The Rocky boots were nice and comfortable , but once wet and muddy the were heavy and hard to clean. The Lacross boots have been great and very confortable.I found that I could put an insulated liner inside the boots and even use them during the colder months. These boots are also good for keeping the scent down, unlike the other styles of snake proof boots. When you first buy the boots , you have to wear them a few times to get broke in and they will feel more comfortable. These boots also have a calf strap on them that keep them snug and won't get pulled off in the mud. Overall, very good boots and the price is right too.

[I can now change my review of these boots since I've worn them in the field.] Wearing thick "smart wool" socks, they did very nicely. I primarily wore these this year while hunting cottonmouths in heavy underbrush. The water was low in most creeks this year and I was able to walk right down the middle without getting wet. The boots are also good protection from briars. I would recommend purchasing a pair of these boots to anyone. [As mentioned in my previous review, I also slip them on if I'm working with a new, squirrely rattlesnake that is being a bit unpredictable.] The only down side to these boots would be that if you were road cruising and flipping tin, you certainly wouldn't be able to drive a car with them on. So, they work much better if you are going to be in the field for any length of time.
