Work Well !

The thicker walled Tongs are the way to go, as they are quite strong and work well.
Do not even consider purchasing the thin walled ones for field herping, unless you will always work with small snakes, as the tongs will bend if you work with larger snakes or use them to move boards and tin.
I have seen dozens of thin walled ones that have bent over the years.
These tongs do tend to get clogged with sand when you work in creeks, however, most tongs do, and you can wash the sand out afterword.
Overall, they are a good product once you get used to using them.

Tough as nails!

If you are looking for super tough tongs, these are the ones you want. These are the gentle giant tongs with the thicker tubing. The tubing on the shaft is thicker than any other tongs I've ever seen. The quality is superb. I don't think you could break them with normal use. The blue tubing is a really nice touch and shows Midwest pays attention to detail. Very nice Midwest!

Great Tongs!

I Have found that these tongs work great with the C. Atrox and the A. Contortrix. The reason that I rate it with a 5 is because it is very gentle on the snakes and has a very good grip.
