Description: Laurence M. Klauber; Hardcover; Buy New: $150.00 -- This virtual encyclopedia of the rattlesnake became a natural history sensation when it was first published in 1956. The republication of the Second Edition, with a new foreword by Harry W. Greene, will give amateur and professional herpetologists alike reason to rejoice. I think this is one of the best book ever wrote about the Crotalus and Sisturus species. I have a older copy of the book which dates from the 70s.

This is 1600 pages of pure readable information on Rattlesnakes split into two volumes. This 1996 second edition reprint is a predominatly taxonomic update of Mr Klaubers 1956 first edition.Their is every thing you need to know about these wonderfull animals from:-bodily function, ecology, venom delivery to its affects on the human body, etc the list could go on and on.If you have a deep affection for these animals(and the cash)this is a must have in any proffesional/hobbiests library. The only down side is the photography, its black&white but you could make up for this by purchasing Manny Rubio's book "Rattlesnake Portrate of a Predator" this is the most beautifully illustrated book I have in my collection.
