I had an Atrox that required treatment for tapeworms after eating frozen rodents. A lot of sources state that if the rodents have been frozen for 30 days min then parasites should not be a problem. I don't know how long the rodents were frozen before I purchased them so that may be problem. I'm just want to know if the rest of rodents will infect my snakes or if they are safe since they have been frozen for over 30 days.
thanks,
Pat

I can think of two possibilities other than the snake getting the worms from what you fed it. It may have been born with them (assuming it was captive born) If it was wild caught, it may have had them before it began feeding for you.
I know that doesn't answer your question, but it may help.

Yes, Paracytes will normally be killed after 30 days in deep freeze.
Your snake may have re-contaminated itself by comming in contact with another source of contamination, ie:feces not thoughly cleaned out of the cage and the location not disinfected with Clorox.
Good Luck,
Al

all living reptiles in the wild have parasites , if its a wild caught snake it might have already had them . a parasite that is found in low numbers may not be a problem but in high numbers in captivity they can be dangerous epsecially in cages that are not clean, so i agree with al ,tapeworms are dangerous because theres so many diffrent types some of which live in the small intestine such as proteocephalidea, yes its true that they normally die after 30 days in the freezer, theres so many treatments that sort tapeworms out , but the best thing is prevention well looked after snakes in captivity don t normally get them.
doubt it helped much .
