 Thanks for the answer.  I wondered about the deep puncture wounds.  
 I’ve been lucky.  And my search for the Leucistic is over with a black rat snake.  I know there is probably not much difference genetically between a black rat and a Texas rat, but there is a WORLD of difference in the temperament!  Well worth the cost difference for an animal kept as a pet!  
 If anyone wants to keep a truly aggressive, large, belligerent non-venomous species for practice before considering hots, I recommend a Texas rat snake whole heartedly!
