Hi guys,
Thanks for the info CAISSACA. I'm definitely gonna check out the book paleoherp reccomended as well as The Venomous Reptiles of the Western Hemisphere. Unfortunately there aren't many field guides out there that emphasize on the snakes of Venezuela. Considering the fact that the Bothrops pit vipers are fairly hard to find and that I have to go to different places scattered throughout the country, I will remain longer than I expected. I'm still not sure when in August I will be going on my quest. I'll have to check with my relatives with which I will be staying in the urban areas(hey, gotta cut down on expenses). Anyway, I still need to find myself a crew to accompany me on my expedition. Does anybody have any suggestions as to who or where I could contact anybody? Thanks for all your help guys. Without you my trip would have been a disaster. I promise to keep you updated. Wish me luck!

it's gonna be rainy in august dude!i found b.asper in nirgua.ask the locals if they know where you can find a mapanare,that is what they call bothrops there.good luck!
