I live just south of Russellville, AR, about 2 hours south of Bentonville. I'd say at this time of year, if the weather keeps up like it has been (cold and wet), about the best you should expect would be small fossorial species (ground snakes, brownsnakes, ringneck snakes), and maybe....just maybe...you might come across a pigmy, copper, or even timber getting some sun before finally retiring for winter. Good luck!

Wow...thanks Guttersnacks for so politely pointing out that little bit I overlooked.....sheesh.
Anyway, Billy, if you're coming in summer then there should be plenty of herps around to find. Various Colubridae including loads of black rats, black racers, Nerodia, and the various fossorial species already mentioned. Hognose are around in abundance there as well. Supposedly there is a decent population of western pigs (S. m. streckeri) in that area. There's also a nice population close to my area if you'd like to visit that. I know there are good pops of copperheads and decent pops of timbers in NW AR. You may want to get in touch with Dr. Stephen Beaupre, a herpetologist at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, who does his research on C. horridus. He may be able to clue you into some good herping (then again, to protect his research, he may not! lol). Best of luck to you. If you need any more info, give me an e-mail. rvsnakes@direcway.com

Hey Billy,
Go to snakesofarkansas.com. It is the website for the newly formed Arkansas Herpetological Society. It is a really good group and if you post when and where you'll be during that time there will surely be someone that can get some time off to show you around. The members are pretty active. We have already had two successful field meetings and plan another in the spring, summer, and fall of next year. Just remind people a couple weeks before you come down and someone will surely be interested in herping with you.
Good luck,
Robert

Hey Chance
Sorry if I came across kinda rude. T'wasnt my intention. I actually re-typed what I said 3 times trying to NOT make it sound rude, but I did want to point out that the question hadnt really been answered.
