typing with only one hand right now. i recived a bite from a copperhead 4 days ago. I know there venom is not as potent as some snakes but it sure did a number on my thumb. i was wondering if there was any chance of the black flesh retuning to normal or if I would be left with a big hole around the bite. figued that you guys would know more then the Dr. that treated me (it was his first venomous bite). Any info or predictions one what to expext would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on what the damage ends up being, but discoloration is normal, even after antivenin. The discoloration should go away with little or no scarring unless it is the result of necrosis. If it is necrosis, the Doctor will be able to diagnose it. I have observed discoloration(sometimes severe) from every bite I have seen, including one of my own, and it always went away leaving little or no lasting damage.
