This topic concerns the species of western rattlesnakes. Ive recently heard that the southern pacific(helleri's)from the mountainous part of their range are gaining more and more neurotoxins in their venom, and that helleri's with mostly haemotoxins are more fatal. Also Ive heard that horridus is comparable to durissus terrificus. How much of this is true? Also can anyone give me a documented list of a rattlesnake toxicity chart or LD50. Thank You.

The reports of the snakes becoming more toxic is not the case. What is the case is that we are learning more about the nature of their variation in venom composition and relative toxicity.
