These are the !@#$%!!! that are stirring up the "Reptile Bans" that are sweeping the country.
Here is their postion paper on "Reptiles" They don't want you to keep any animals...check them out. Then look at the rest of the website.
http://www.api4animals.org/308.htm
They are like an arm of PETA they don't like anything to do with wildlife...fishing, hunting... We would be good to form partnerships with other companies & organizations that they are after.

This group should be called PETA, Al, you are right, they do remind me of PETA’s efforts to ban the keeping of any Animal as a pet or other wise. I agree with you Al, we should join with those companies that PETA and other extreme Animal activist groups are out to get. This would send a clear message to all the Ban Crazy Org’s. that we ain’t going to take this laying down. This shows that some Politicians are only out to please the Special groups, because if they don’t these groups will do all in their power to shut them down. I see this as a back door way to kill all pet trades in this country, including Non-Venomous trades, such as Corn Snakes, Kingsnake’s, and some of the exotic Species of Colubrids. I hope that we can all join together and stop these moronic, selfish, and unfounded laws from being implemented.......Be safe ya’ll, Wally

Pretty funny how they fail to mention the 380,000 vicious dog attacks (all requiring hospital care and mostly from the family "pet" dogs). They never seem to watch the news or pay attention to the AP (Associated Press). Dog cause more deaths each year than; lightening, snakebite, and food poisoning all put together.

I went to the website and thought it was pretty bad. It is just some deaf tree hugger telling people what is right and wrong to own. I dont take advise from a retard who reads Harry Potter.

Hey David, they don’t pay attention, because if they did, all Dog owners would lose their privileges, same as we are. Its called indifference, they wont to take our Animals away, because there are fewer of us than there are Dog lovers. I really hate to put it this way, but we are the outcast of society, we are looked at as crazy, moronic, stupid, and unintelligent thrill seekers, that care less about the people that live around us, we know this in no way the truth, but try to tell them that. The big difference between us and other Animal owners, is that we keep one of the most hated, and persecuted Animals on this Earth, we show them love and care, but they look at them as Devils that should be Killed for no apparent reason. I know that this group that wants to ban the keeping of any and all “so called” Dangerous Animals, is only out to make a name for itself. They want to degrade us and show that they can manipulate our Governments into thinking we are a scourge to society. I see this as a direct attack on our morality as good stewards to Animals that are commonly hated by Man. If we allow this probable Ban to come to pass, what will be next?....................Be safe ya’ll, Wally

OOPS. I was way off on the number of dog attacks and would like to apologize for posting the wrong info. It is NOT 380,000 it is 3.8 MILLION dog attacks in a year ('99 AP Network News El Paso Times, Reuters). I forgot a 0. This kind of explains all the seniors that you see on their daily walks with big sticks. They aren't worried about muggers or rampant snakes, just the legions of stray dogs.

Actually, only an average of 27-30 dog attacks are fatal in the US, and this is considerably less than deaths from lightning strikes, and even horses! The problem with pointing the finger at one kind of animal to get the burden off another kind of animal is that the animal rights idiots ARE working diligently to ban ALL animals! Maybe YOU are the one who's not keeping up with the news lately, but many places, including entire states, now have legistlation under consideration to ban Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Akitas, Dobermans, you name it-practically any large breed of dog or any dog which simply LOOKS like one, regardless of its temperament! Wanna guess who's behind these proposals, hmmm? It's our dear friends, the Animal Rights Activists, that's who! They know that the public isn't going to buy outright into their "no more animals" philosophy, so they have to provide a reason-and that reason included convincing the public and the legistlators that certain animals are just too dangerous, whether in terms of disease-carrying potential, or bites/attacks, to live among humans. They are also working to convince people that it it cruel to the animal to have to live with humans, and that there is a huge overpopulation of unwanted animals, so all existing ones must be spayed/neutered and breeding bans put into effect. Working this way, they are making enornous strides in achieving their goal of an animal-free society, while us animal owners and breeders fight among ourselves that "this kind of animal is more dangerous than mine, so why not ban IT and leave mine alone" mentallity. Bottom line-if you own animals, no matter what kind, you'd better stick with other animal owners instead of pointing fingers, 'cause rest assured, the Animal Rights people are after ALL of us! As Ben Franklin put it, "We must all hang together, or we shall surely hang separately!"
