I'll make this short because I am about to head out the door.
Actually, spitting cobras spit venom. They don't spit like you and I spit. The "spit" is the same liquid that is injected when they bite. They both come out from the teeth. Spitting cobras don't actually spit, they release venom using strong cranial muscles that releases the venom from their glands through the teeth and the teeth are designed to send the venom airborn. But it is still a venom.

Robert is correct. The venom is absorbed into the bloodstream through the eyes, but if it just contacts the skin, it does no harm, & causes no pain.
