Will: The link you posted has an article about Cottonmouths, but no photos. Cottonmouths can get very big, though. I have seen a couple of road kills in Lousianna and South Florida that I thought at first were part of truck tire recaps on the road. Some reach 5 to 6 feet in length, and can weigh over 25 LBS. i've seen them here on the obx that are 5 ft long and as big as my bicep. (i'm 6'1"/200lbs)other than the aggressive part, the article was right on.

The article states Cottonmouth "bite victims can be treated easily with antibiotics or antivenom, but immediate medical help is a must". I dont think the treatment of a Cottonmouth bite is an either / or situation, and not all bites are easily treated. JohnZ

Well guys, I have to admit something. I misread the article. I thought it said that the snake was as wide as a man's waist. So now you'll understand the humor I saw in the story and my expert reading abilities.
