Recently I've been looking into purchasing an Eyelash viper. I've gone through stacks of research and information about care and husbandry for the species, but I thought it wouldnt hurt to have some first-hand accounts for taking care of this gorgeous snake. Any tips or advice that may help with keeping it would be very appreciated. Thanks, guys. - David Mead

Eyelash Vipers are great snakes. Try to get a captive born animal that is a young adult or adult and feeding well. Stay away from new born or very young ones, they can be a real challenge to feed. Best Regards JohnZ

Keep in mind that arboreals like the eyelash vipers can strike a hell of a lot further than you expect.
Good Luck,

also if you try to tail it it will wrap its tail around your hand and you are screwed. I made that mistake with a nonvenomous amazon tree boa. I picked it up by the back end and it immediately gripped my hand with its tail. It didnt bite but that would be unfortunate for that to happen. You probably understand this and are probably more aware of it than I am but I just wanted to warn you just in case.good luck.

Thanks alot guys for the help. I've had quite a bit of experience with arboreals, which is why I chose the eyelash viper over several other snakes. I really appreciate all the help. It's helped alot.
