The E.obsoleta was found in a glue trap today. Still Alive!!! It was tangled up pretty good and I was able to release the snake from the glue trap with soapy water, of course it took a little while. No damage as far as I can tell, movement seems fine, and no abrasions. The snake has been loose in the house for quite some time and no one saw it. Such secret animals.

I can relate to that. i have a California Kingsnake loose in the house. He's a sneaky little booger. What makes it worse is that he is only about a foot long so he can go anywhere and not be seen. My wife sees him under the sink in the kitchen while I'm at work and is terrified of him so she won't pick him up. He is also quick so when one does see him, he crawls into a hole in the back of the cabinet. Nice huh? This is the second time he has escaped. I caught him before so I guess I'll catch the little fugitive again.

Vegetable oil works great for dissolving the glue from those as well.

I'm going to try the glue trap tonight. Do i need to stick a pinky to the glue to lure the snake? i know about where he hangs out but he goes into a hole in the back of the cabinet that leads under the dishwasher before i can snag him.

I didn't use a pinkie, but that sounds like a good idea. My problem was that it was never seen since it escaped,so he had been loose for a month or more. The only thing I was concerned about was his head. It was stuck to the trap but fortunately his eye was not stuck to the trap, and I see where that may or may not be damaged when removing from the trap, but try it I am sure you will catch the snake.
