In order to become a herpetologist what courses do you have to take in college and what would be the best college(U.S)to go to?

Well as far as your bachelor's degree, you pretty much just have to get one in Animal Sciences or one simlilar. So Biology, Biology, and more Biology. After your bachelor's degree, then you move on to your Masters and Doctrit. I'm not sure of the best schools to go to, but as far as getting your bachelor's most any college with an Animal or Life Science bachelor's degree will do you good, it's the continuing education degrees that you will have to choose a good school for. Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong, but this is what I've come to understand. Hope this helps some.

Colton: Like Scott said, a bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences, Wildlife Management, Biology, or Zoology would probably be enough to get you a job at a Zoo Herpetology Department. If you plan to teach, or want to be a Curator or work at a Natural History Museum, an advanced degree would be the way to go.

University of Colorado
University of Florida
University of Kansas
all have really good in depth courses on Herpetology. They would be a good choice.
