How toxic is the mangrove snakes venom?

Dear experts,
I am thinking about getting a mangrove
snake but I would like to know how toxic the
venom is before hand .

Hi Daniel,
Boiga dendrophilia, the mangrove snake, is capable of a mild envenomation. I'd be really suprised if you got much more than a headache and a little dizziness from one chewing on you. Of course, a lot of this depends on a few factors: how mmuch you weigh, how much venom the snake actually gets in you, etc...
As a generality, Boiga species are on the neurotoxic side. There is presently work being done on the genus and results will be out shortly.
