Do I need a permit to keep a venomous herp?

Hello,
I have been handling all kinds of
herps for a few years and I am wanting
to get a mangrove snake, do I need to
get some kind of permit(I live in AZ)?

Arizona:
Native Venomous: No permit is required, however other restrictions apply. Please contact Arizona Game and Fish Department for all the details
Exotic Venomous: Permit is required
Protected Native Venomous: Permit required

I would add to this that not even the Pheonix Zoo has exotic hots. Arizona is one of the hardest states to get permited in. I'm not sure if rear-fanged snakes fall under this. My advice would be to talk to someone in the Az Herpetocultural Society and not someone in the state govt. By state reg, the beurocrats who work on game/wildlife are mainly comprised of complete retards and will tell you all kinds of cr@p because they aren't interested in getting the actual answers.
