I noticed on the venom chart that some of the venomous species have local/systemic effects under the lethal dose column. I was wondering; what exactly does this mean?

It means that you will have local pain and swelling, and maybe an increased heart rate, sweating, vomiting, abdominal cramps, etc. But you won't die.
