Jeremy: I would have to agree that the Trans-Pecos Copperheads are one of the most kool Copperheads to keep. I wish I knew where you could get a captive pair, but do not know of any at this time.
What I was wondering about though was your cage idea. I like the idea of doing rockwork in the cage and even running water. We used to make a lot of rockwork like that at AZP in the cages, using wire mesh and colored concrete to construct fake rock cliffs. Some of it wound up looking very realistic to the native habitats.
I do wonder why you would need an 8 ft x 8 ft enclosure though for a pair of these snakes. I think you could build a 2 or 3 ft x 4 ft cage that would have plenty of room for a pair. That way you could save the extra money to build like three other cages for other animals. A smaller cage could still have great rock work and cliffs, and even a water fall and pond in the bottom, and have plenty of room for a couple of these snakes.
Let me know if you need any advise in constructing fake rock work over wire mesh in enclosures like this. It is not hard to do, and can look quite realistic.
Best Regards JohnZ

I just liked the idea of a big cage. It probably wont be that big or I may not have enough room for that big of a cage, because now that I think about it 8'x8' is pretty big.(I was just throwing off an estimate and when I first said 8'x8' I wasnt really thinking of how big that actually is.) thanks for the advice.Jeremy.
