This is just a question I have had for the last few weeks...Has anyone noticed a delay in Horridus activity due to the rain/hurricanes? I am also wondering about copperheads. I usually see a few timber rattlesnakes dead on the road at this time of year and I usually see at the very least 2-5 copperheads each night either dead or alive. On the way home from work I am seeing no snakes dead on the road. Is anyone else noticed this or are the snakes still doing their regular activities? Thanks.

There's always going to be a variation in activity, in especially in weather related instances, but you'll also see variation through the years too. However pressure due to hurricanes, typical summer storm activity, and so on naturally dictates snake movement, predominantly the finicky ones like horridus.

Thanks Aquaherp. I havent been able to get out much but I am planning on taking an off day on Sunday and staying out all day at one of my favorite timber spots. Usually I find females sunning out in the open at this time of year and I hope I have some luck. Again, thanks for the reply.
