Georgia Public Broadcasting ( GPTV ) will air Okefenokee Joe in the special called `Swampwise` on Friday Night, July 22 at 9:00 pm, and on Wednesday Morning, July 27 at 1:00 am.
In this Emmy-winning special, Okefenokee Joe tours Georgia's fascinating Okefenokee Swamp throught the four seasons. This beautiful wetland area with its sparkling praries, cypress lagoons and pine-covered islands is home to many precious species. Through narrative and song, Joe tells the stories of the Okefenooke's inhabitants, history and allure.
The show features lots of Joe`s music, and lots of shots of venomous reptiles, as well as alligators, birds, bears, and other animals of the swamp. If you have never seen this show, it is fun to watch. I helped produce this show ( watch for my name in the credits, LOL ), and know it has some great footage of the reptiles of the Okefenokee region.
Also, if you want to see one of Joe`s Snake Shows in person, he will be at the The Georgia Wildlife Federation’s 2005 Atlanta Buckarama, the Southeast’s largest and longest running trade show for sportsmen, featuring 161,000 square feet of displays in nearly 600 vendor booths offering the latest in must-have gear, gadgets and clothing for hunters and anglers. The show is August 4th through August 7 at the Atlanta Expo Center located off I-285, exit 55.

Wally: I do not know about Alabama PBS neteworks, but I do know that many PBS networks do trade shows. If your area does not carry the show, I can probably burn a DVD for you sometime after the show on Friday, and send it to you. Send me an Email with your mailing address and I will see if I can send you a copy. Best Regards JohnZ

Jeremy: I hope you do get a chance to see Swampwise this Friday. It was fun to make, as most of the filming was done on a trip with 4 canoes and 8 people. We had Okefenokee Joe and his wife Cindy, and Carol the Director, and Mitch the Camera Man, and a sound guy, and Hayward Clamp, and Charlie Bostwick, and me. We spent 6 days in the swamp filming and recording stuff for that show, and Joe spent many months after that filling in stuff for the film that we did not see in the swamp due to the seasonal changes. It was quiet fun, and hopefully appreciated by those who saw the show. Best Regards JohnZ
