I saw a snake that was black and maroonish. It had a red tongue. Any idea what type of snake this is?

It will remain a mystery if you don't provide more information, like: in what state/city did you see it.
Also more of a description of the snake.

It was loose in the brush at a zoo. It had maroon bands and black patches between the maroon bands.
