I still experiance nausea and have loose bowel movements. This is day 26
after the bite. I don't have fever, but my foot still swells when my leg is
in the down position. I was bitten on the top of my foot, around the ankle
and it's like there is a band of swelling that doesn't permit my foot to
bend to walk well. I mostly walk on the outer edge of my foot causing my
knee to hurt. It is also still numb under my foot. It's the upset stomach
that has me concerned. I take a benadryl to calm it down. I don't really
mind the bowel movements because usually I would go every 2nd or 3rd day.
Hope you don't mind me discussing that.
Anyway, I should probably make another doctors appointment and see what
gives unless this is normal for the healing process.
Thanks
Kathy

Kathy:
Seeing the doctor is very good idea. If you were treated with CroFab Antivenom, there is sometimes a rebound effect. This basicially means there is once again active venom in your system. This is treated by administering a few more vials of serum. The doctor should at least order CBC and look carefully at the clotting components in your blood as well as close observation of the wound.
Good Luck,
Al Coritz

Al is right. I had a fairly serious rebound after a bite that didn't completely subside for a while. The hospital confused their Wyeth A/V with CroFab and I had a nice case of serum sickness to contend with as well. Your physician should do a blood workup on you to make sure everything is within normal limits.
