I have been offerd a pair of Western Hognoses as I already have a male and the other 2 are male+female but have not bred yet probably due to the person who owns them hasn't got a clue, Anyway I will be getting there viv. aswell but can you keep them in trios of 2 males to 1 female obviously I would expect some ritual behaviour but its hard to find non-contradictoy information so any answers will be appreciated, I will keep the males seperate if I decide to cool them down for hibernation and breeding but they are all just around the yearling mark so if anyone can tell me -When does a (whn) become sexually mature so as to avoid any problems before I get them as it will be in the next 3-5 days that I will try and get them, there is my time frame, not long help guys! these will really be a rescue but im having to buy them to keep them alive! Also im sick and tired of people being able to just walk in and buy a reptile with no knowledge what so ever and cause pain and suffering through ignorance. Perhaps a standard issue reptile lisence achived through a short multiple answer exam to show some proficency with reptiles I don't know. anyway hope all you lot are all ok. Thanks Kieron.

Kieron: It would probably be allright to eventually keep them together, but I would make sure they have a quaranteen period of several months first. If the two new ones are sickly, you might introduce illness to your healthy animals. Start them out seperate and get them feeding and healthy first. JohnZ
