The Mojave's bands are quite distinctive from those of the other banded tail rattlers.

23bms is absolutly right, the tail bands of the Mojave Rattlesnake are very different and distinctive from those found on Crotalus atrox and the various Crotalus viridis Subspecies. Mojave Rattlesnakes have white tail bands that are three or four times wider than the black bands.
On a seperate note, 23bms, why don`t you add some information to your profile? You obviously know about snakes of the NW United States, and we do not have many posters here that are from that area.
People here will take you a lot more seriously if you provide at least some information to your profile.
Just a thought.
Best Regards

AMEN JOHN! I just made a comment just like this in the earlier thread called NORTHERN VIRGINIA. The guy in question, only put his name on his profile, but without any other pertinent info. Since our community is made up of such a conglomerate of backgrounds, not to mention, we all wind up searching for "locale and data" on species of snakes, we tend to do the same to those who we're hearing from or responding to.
It's always a good thing to let us know a little bit more about you, than just your name.
As always, there's my .02 worth.
Be safe,
Matt
