He presented some of this paper at the Snakebite Symposium but we were not suppose to talk about it till Nature published it.

And that comment is exactly why we got this into Nature. Another paradigm bites the dust ;-)

"Gila Monsters and Beaded lizards are the ONLY two venomous lizards on THIS earth."
Yeah! And the sun revolves around the earth (which is flat), evolution is just an unsustantiated theory (with LOTS of holes in it), and the earth was created by a giant spaghetti monster.
Give the scientific community a chance to give their take on this new discovery before you totally dismiss it for the current paradigm. It seems pretty solid to me. After all, it did make it into Nature. Plus, BGF DEFINITELY knows his stuff.

Dr. Fry,
Congradulations !
How in the world did you think about doing this research ?
I`m happy now that I have more venomous pets than I thought.
Anyway, keep up the good work!
Best regards, Alex S.

why is it some people cant accept the facts, insted of stating something we already know get of your butt and
do something constructive to back up your stroppy post. like doing a science paper to PROVE YOU ARE RIGHT.but your not people like you would call black white if someone dares disagree with your totally narrow minded view of the world.:-)

Kieron,
Dude, you need to calm down.
I learned awhile ago that BGF doesn't need us to protect or stick up for him.
LOL
He just keeps turning the herp world on its ear by "discovering" all kinds of stuff that various people have "suspected" for years.
I really enjoyed calling my wife (from Japan) to tell her that her Bearded Dragons are venomous 8-D
Lots of people will resist this view of what were previously considered "harmless" reptiles. Mostly because they don't want the governement to start in on regulating something that was previously considered safe.
You can't police everyone who has a dissenting view. The best thing you can do is calmly and coherently present the facts as you know them, or your opinions if you feel up to defending them, and people will stand up to agree with you or support you. When you get emotional and slip into personal attacks, it no longer matters if you are right or wrong. Then the thread is about the attacks and not the facts.
