Someone sent me a pic of a WDB that suposedly measures 9'1" and weighs 97 lbs.Wouldn't that be a record? Unfortunately, the snake was killed.I have the pic if anyone wants to see it.It was found (killed)at the "Turkey Creek gas plant" south of Alibates Turnoff on Hwy 136 south of Fritch,Texas.(north of Amarillo)Maybe some of the Texas members have heard more? Though I haven't seen the picture myself, I think it's pretty safe to assume that even if the snake's length is approaching 9', it's weight would be nowhere near 97 lbs. I've handled a big, and by big I mean 6.5-7', Eastern Diamondback, arguably the most massive venomous snake in the US, and that guy only weighed about 10-15 lbs at best. Of course, out on the hook, he sure felt a lot heavier! Just keep in mind, burms, retics, and anacondas also don't weigh anywhere near that much at even 10'. If you're sending out pictures though, shoot one my way as I'd like to take a look - najak82@hotmail.com.
