Hello Everyone, Just thought i'd let you all know, i just got my Crotalus ruber ruber, Back from my friend. It is doing so well. I took a pic if any of you would care to see..

Very nice looking rattler!It looks like a Northen Pacific, is that what is is? My local shop has one but i'm really after a Black-Tailed. Mark

No, Crotalus ruber rubber would be a “Red diamond rattlesnake”. Few snakes exemplify the laid-back California lifestyle like the red diamond. Usually slow to strike or even rattle, these snakes can be found throughout much of Southern California.
Along with the Southern pacific, which in contrast, is usually quite aggressive and very dangerous, these are the two most common of the Southern California rattlesnakes.

absolutely right toddg..my ruber is a very calm snake, slow to strike n rattle, So is most the other ones ive came across. I agree on the southern pacific,, those guys are pretty aggressive. so i kinda keep my distance..but they are a very beautiful snake ..
