Glad to see this site still going strong. It has been some time since I last visited. Tonight my Prairie Rattlesnake gave birth to a healthy litter fathered by a N.Pacific Rattlesnake. I'm not too big on hybrids, kinda unintentional, however, I was interested if anyone else has seen this cross before. Both snakes are commonly kept, yet I don't recall ever have seen one. I have seen the different intergrades of oreganus between races where ranges overlap, but not these. Also, now that these two snakes are considered different species since viridis group has been split, should I expect these snakes to be mules?

Sterilization is one fable that has been disproven over and over in herpetoculture. For more hybrid info:

As far as "mules" go, the females are sterile, but there have been a number of males in different countries that are fertile. I myself can't wait for 75% Carpondros to pop up somewhere, it's about time..........
Got any pics of your crotalus crosses?
