I was wondering if it would be a feasible possibility to make a snake fang necklace? Could all the residual venom be eradicated from the fang and be safe enough to wear? If so, how can I accomplish this? I surmise the fang be destroyed if I tried to get a jewler to dip the base of the fang (or whole fang)in gold. Maybe I could use gold wiring to tie the fang to the necklace. If anyone has ideas about how to make this idea work, I'd like to hear your suggestions. Shark teeth necklaces are fairly common, but I don't know of anyone "sporting" a snake fang necklace. Also, does anyone have a Gaboon fang they want to get rid of so I can try my crazy experiment?

I'm sure that some common solvent would clean the tooth, but wearing an uncovered hypodermic around your neck may prove problematic. Don't wear it with a white shirt. Those little red blood spots will be difficult to remove. :)

If the fangs have passed through the snake (it's crapped them out) then they should be harmless. They'll still be capable of stabbing you in the neck, but you should have no worries of venom if they were digested...

my uncle is a jeweler, and I've seen him gold plate smaller and more delicate items than a gaboon fang. When making necklaces out of sharp curly objects (such as fangs or bear claws) turn the point sideways. It'll hurt less, and two fangs facing eachother would probably look cool.

I wear a snake fang necklace. I have a nice fang from a big EDB. A very special friend made this for me. It was bleached and cleaned very well. It is sharp as hell, so I recommend not sleeping in it. Bryan
