			You hear, the record for this snake is..... and for this snake its ......
 
 Is there not a single source for such "records" or even a collection that puts record lengths, weights, etc, together?  
 
 Seems a lot of these "records" are more like road side tourist bragging rights.  Guinness has documented the longest, heaviest, etc. but does not break it down into per/species.  Ripleys pretty much the same and these are not publications revered for scientific accuracy.
 
 If not, sounds like a good book idea!
