Roark Ferguson was integral in the formation of NCARK. We are now proud to announce that we will be working together again to create the SC Association of Reptile Keepers (SCARK). To find out more you can contact me or visit the NCARK booth in Columbia. We refuse to sit idle and watch our rights be taken away! Join Us & Help Protect Your Rights!
Dean Ripa and I are working on a way that members of NCARK can pool their resources to purchase a stock of AV that would cover many commonly kept exotics. This would be a way of making a statement that we are serious about what we do and are ready to take responsibilty for it. It would create a vital safety net for those who participate at a very reasonable and affordable cost. This collective would also remove the objection by many Zoo's that bites to private keepers endanger their personel by depleting their AV supply. To find out more you can contact me or visit the NCARK booth in Columbia. Let us know if you would like to get involved. Join Us & Help Protect Your Rights!

Thanks John! You have been very supportive since the early days of this effort and I greatly appreciate it.
A state that I believe desperately needs our help is Ohio. They are currently being targeted by API along with NC and WA. Even though they are a bunch of yankees (LOL), they need to benefit from the model we have created. I have no contacts there, but I don't think things are going well for them. Ohio is a big herp state. It would be devestating if they go down without a fight.

Just wondering, if you move South of the Mason-Dixon line, just how long does it take a Yankee to become a Southerner ?
Is being a Yankee a permant thing, or is it something that changes after 10 or 12 years of living in the South ? LOL !
Sal, have you traded in ``Krullers`` and ``Pop`` for ``Donuts`` and ``Coke``,yet?
And what about Gritts ?
(The truth is that Southerners stopped eating Gritts back during the War Between The States), we only cook them to feed them to visiting Yankee relatives, LOL!
Best Regards JohnZ

LOL...from what the guys at work tell me, I need to master the southern language, have a beat up pick-up, own some form of John Deere equipment, and be a David Alan Coe fan. Or, live here for 17 years, which ever comes first. However, I've been here for 3 1/2 years and I get 2 years knocked off because I married a good ol' southern Cherokee girl. So, I've got 11 1/2 years left.
John, as far as "krullers" and "pop"? I never knew of anyone up north who used either of those words. Our words for "donuts" and "coke"...were always..."donuts" and "coke"...lol.
I've learned that most southerners think that being from up north means that you live in NYC and talk like you're from Boston. I'm originally from Long Island. Which to a southerner is the same as being from NYC. But, its really not if your actually from Long Island...or NYC.
I love all the stereotypes. When I first moved down here everyone always asked me if the crime is really that bad up north, saying all northerners are criminals. Whats funny, is that the first time I went back home to visit, everyone asked me if all southerners really rape people, saying that southerners are straight from the cast of "Deliverance", LOL.
The truth is, I love it here in the mountains. I've met some of the greatest people ever, between work and the "reptile world". You couldn't pay me to move back up north.
