So, he will be on this sight as herp-master for now on.

Hey andy welcome to the site. Ive been here for about 4 months. There is alot of help here if they want to help. Some times you just need to bite your toungue if something is said that shouldnt be or you disagree with. lol. Ive had good experiacnse and im in a bad one now. But honestly this is the best site ive ever been on for herping and such. Do you keep any herps now? i no you dont keep any hotts, but what about any other things? Have fun and be safe.

Welcome to the site, this is the best place to get to know fellow herpers, couple of things that you need to know are that you should not get upset with others difference of opinions for it doesn't meen that they don't like you but rather worry for you and/or your animals and some of the elders on this site discourage the young guys for they don't want to see us get hurt by a hot snake or something along those lines, once more, don't take offence for they have good reasons even if they might not be idealized for you. everyone here is quite friendly and you will not find a better place to gain info. on our hobby, have fun and enjoy the site.
nice to meet you andy, your brother has been a welcome addition to the site as I am sure you will be as well

mike, i keep what i can find. I herp very often, so i am constantly switching snakes. I keep them in a 4ft by 3ft old fish tank. It is a nice terrain for them. The only thing i wont bring home if i find it is either a large black rat snack, or a copperhead. I showed nathan, my brother, a wild copperhead. A local college, penn state altoona to be exact, called me. My mom teaches there, and told them i like snakes. So anyway, they were having trouble with the copperheads in the creeks there. So, i showed him to keep a distance, and some other tips. It's wierd how we get along so well in the forests. But, its a different story in the house.
Chris, i have been reading some threads on here, and i saw the fight on the post, help me understand... then, i also saw the thread he made called dishonesty. He takes things to seriously.
He said something about a cro, but i havnt seen any posts by him on here, does this cro exist, if he does, i will like to meet him. But, in the meantime, i already found some people that are about my age. I think this is going to be a good experience here.

Cro is a very knowledgable person on anything that you want to ask him but he hasn't posted latly, i hope that he hasn't left this site, he used to post all the time, he is very nice if you get to know him but stubborn at times, this can create some conflicts but I would listen to him next time he posts, another person to listen to is buzztail, I hold a high respect for them both as they are the more experienced keepers. Not saying that the others on this site are not experienced but these guys are the ones that I would ask for advice from. I will post a link to thier profiles.

Hello Andy,
Welcome to the SHHS site.
I took a weeks vacation from the site to visit my aunt and uncle in Upstate New York. I do not own a laptop, so was off the computer during that time. Visited some places I had not seen in 35 years, and got into some snow up in the Catskill Mountains. Was too cold for herping, but I found some great areas for warmer times of the year. Saw lots of deer, and porkypines, groundhogs, skunks, coyotes, and hawks. Drove many miles along the Blue Ridge Parkway in VA and the Esophus River in NY. Took a few hundred photos. The only problem was I had to travel with my brother who is not a herper, and who tends to be a pain at times, LOL ! Had to visit a railway museum in Roanoak VA on the way home to keep him happy, but the trains were kool.
I stopped by the Hamburg Pennsylvania Reptile Show on the way there. It was really interesting, although there was so many people it was elbow to elbow, and very noisey and hard to see the animals. Much different from the laid back shows we have in South Carolina. I got to meet Al (Phobos), and he took some time to introduce me to many folks at the show. Had a lot of fun visiting there. Wish I had been able to stay longer at the show, but still had 9 hours to drive that day, so had to leave early.
Anyway, it is great to be home and back on the computer. Have many snake cages to clean, and lots of eMail and Snail Mail to sort through, and lots of posts here to read to see whats been happning at the site.
Best Regards JohnZ
