For the record, this Columbia Show was the best Reptile Show I have ever attended!
The people there, and the vendors and the Repticon team were all great!
My bringing up a problem about a virus caused by the building should in no way be considered a complaint against my friends who organized this fine show! It is just a ``constructive criticism`` designed to make the next show even bigger and better.
The fact that some folks caught some kind of respiritory virus from possibly a ``sick`` building in no way takes anything away from all the great Repticon folks who organized the show. The heating / AC of the building is not something they can control. Hopefully, they will let the building owners / health department know there is a problem, and it will be corrected before the summer show.
Best Regards JohnZ

This answer might not be relevant to your question, 'cos I wasn't there, but made me think of other similar cases occuring frequently where I live. Just wanted to thank you for giving an insight to this matter.

Im not so sure it was the building either. My family and I were there from Friday morning till Sunday night. Of course stayed the night there also and all of us are fine. I am glad everyone enjoyed the show. Its about time Columbia is back to having good shows again.

I have had a bad cold ever since the show. Don`t know if anything is related or not, I just figured it was a lack of rest from travel and being in a warm building with several hundred people at one time. Some of who I am sure were sick when they got there. Hope those afflicted all get to feeling better.

Just for the record... I was not really "sick". I had some congestion and lost my voice... but it did last for several days.

Andrew, the horseness, congestion and upper-respirotory problems are what most folks wound up with, but some others got a lot sicker.
Perhaps some folks have immunity because of previous exposure to the bug.
I have gotten eMails from several folks who did not post here. Looks like over 25 people who were mostly SHHS or Venomous Vendors caught the thing.
Have not heard anything about the NonVenomous Vendors, but they usually do not post here.

I got nailed by it. By Monday morning, I was in horrible shape. I am finally starting to kick it. It also seems to be EXTREMELY contagious. My wife caught it very quickly and she didn't go. Brett Gardin also got sick and his fiancé (who also didn't go) caught it as well. It kicked the hell out me.

For the record, The Boss and I are fine with no signs of illness. We stayed at the Red Roof Inn with no problems. I would like to point out that we went from warm S GA weather to cold SC weather and that there were people walking around in the show who were obviously ill (coughing, sneezing, etc.). It is entirely possible that, in the enclosed space of the Jamil Temple, people were exposed to vectors of which they were unaware.
