Hey guys....I think maybe I just worry too much. Anyway..
I had planned to begin cycling my retics. However, I have been told if the female goes off food for no reason, and the male avoids his hotspot and stays on the side of his cage closest to hers, it may be time to introduce. Mine are acting in this manner.
When I put them together, they show no interest at all and stay on opposite sides of the cage. However, Ive also been told that I may never witness copulation as they do not spend as much time and may be more secretive.
So I have to wonder....do I continue pairing them? Or may I proceed with my cycling?
Thanks,
Chris

if both male and female are acting in this way keep up what you are doing and wait for the female to shed before you introduce each other, when the time comes place the male in the females enclouser then keep a watchful eye on the behaviour of both snakes i would not keep either reptile with the other with out you being in immediate site or attention of the animals, if copulation occurs then take the male out and try to feed him if he refuses then wait at least a day then introduce them again. if they both refuse to mate then put him back in the cage with the female and provide hide boxes for both at separate ends of the enclouser and leave them over night,(but be aware that violence may happen between the two, it is a risk you will have to take if breeding is a desire for you ) take the male out asoon as possible the next morning if you can.
