Hope to get some help with this question. I have a female pygmy rattler 2 years old, I want to know if she will grow her rattle back. she has just from what I can see 1 forked button on her tail. was broken when i recieved her this past Saturday. She is healthy ate two mice Saturday no scars supposed to be captive bred does good on hook kind of got an attitude, not like the canebrake i traded her for. this is a Carolina pygmy if that helps. any help would be appreciated. thank you! Chris

She'll add a button every time she sheds. If she sheds 4 times in a year, she'll have 4 rattles.

Hello Badknees . Your pigmy may or may not gain any rattle segments. Many pigmies rattle is so undeveloped in todays snakes that many do not form the chain like rattle but rather shed the buttons off when they shed but then again it may add a segment to the rattle each time it sheds creating a nice long rattle to make a small buzz for you to hear.
