I posted a few weeks ago about having trouble getting my recently adopted aligator "Archie" to eat. I said I would keep everyone updated on how he was doing but am just getting around to it. Thanks for all the help from everyone! First, I moved a ceramic heater into his room and now the Temp never goes below 75 degrees. Also, with him being new, I think I was handling him way to much. Ive left him alone now to settle in and havent held him for 2 weeks. I tried some live goldfish first because they were easiest to get and still nothing. Then a few days later I put in 15 large crawfish and left them over night. The next morning there was only 3 left!!! He must have loved them! I was getting worried and am very happy hes eating now. Thanks again to everyone who posted with there tips and hints! Hopefully I can put a new picture up soon of a fat little Archie!

J.R., it is great to hear that the gator is now eating.
Sounds like you are on the right track with the temperatures and food items. Also, by not handling him, you have probably reduced a lot of stress he had.
Hope he continues to do well for you.
Best Regards JohnZ
