I'm looking for a quality field pack that is (or can be easily made into) a herping pack. I'd like to have a pack to carry first-aid supplies, snakebite treatment information, etc...just general field herping necessities. But most importantly, I'm looking for a pack that has straps/holsters for hooks and tongs. I can't seem to find one anywhere, and figured I'd ask the experts for help.
Thanks ahead of time,
Matt N

Matt, take a look at the field packs designed for photographers. They often have straps for trypods and those could be used for a snake hook. Also, the ones designed for rock climbers often have straps for ice axes and such. Try a large store like Frys Electronics and avoid the photo stores as they charge way too much. Also Cabellas and Bass Pro Shops both have many to choose from. Lowe and National Geographic both make many excellent field packs.
Best Regards JohnZ
