I just don't see how Fish and Wildlife officers could be afraid to enter a house because of any type of snake. Do they expect them to be crawling all over the place? Don't most keepers have them locked up?

I should bite my tongue as your question is ludicrous. Any wildlife game officer should be very concerned about walking into an unknown person's home to respond to illegal keeping of certain types of animals; particulaly species that are not native to their area. In my neck of the woods, they oftentimes call me to help assist in both ID and in the actual removal of the venomous herp because I do it every day (they don't and they shouldn't be expected to). I can't tell you how many times I have walked into one of these homes to find deadly venomous herps kept in unlocked cages, flimsy cages, escaped in the house, sterilite containers with just a snap on lid, etc. I even had one idiot keep a red spitter in a chicken wire cage (the snake's rostral scale was so badly damaged that its front fangs were completely exposed). And we wonder why we have bans on reptiles?

One thing? Are you serious? Sure, animal rights folks do ZERO good to protect animals of any kind, however, it is primarily the irresponsible owners and unscrupulous breeders that wreak havoc with our rights. We only have ourselves to blame. This is EXACTLY why we have problems; we like to blame someone else for the problems we have caused.
