I never understood why EAST African Gaboons cost almost double what a West goes for. I can see several reasons that may cause this, supply and demand for one or is it that most herpers prefer EAST over WEST? I've noticed they both seem to be readily available for the most part.
I'm not really sure why one costs more than the other so I thought I would ask the experts.

Let me just add I like the WEST because of their horns and would think they would be the better seller and maybe they are but just wondering why the EAST is higher in price

Bitis gabonica rhinoceros is more commonly imported, versus their East African counterparts. In my opinion, Bitis gabonica gabonica has much more vibrant colors, especially the specimens out of Uganda.
