I need as much info on Breeding the Naja and Bitis family as possible. I have a very nice, big pair of Albino Monocles and a nice pair of Gaboons that I want to breed this coming season. Do I need to cool them for a period of time? Do they need to go through a wet season? If I do need cool them what temp should I keep them at and for how long? Also, where can I find GOOD books on Monocles or the Naja family and on Gaboons or the Bitis family? Can someone please give me some GOOD infromation on breeding. I can't seem to find anyone to help me with this. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bobby

I think this topic has been asked before. From memory with the Bitis(a project I'm currently attempting as well) the breeding season is Sept-Dec. You shoul seperate the 2 prior to breeding which should represent dry season. Then before pairing start to sray the cage daily to mimic the wet season. Avoid obesity especially in the male, and then place together for a couple weeks. If your not sure if it happened you can seperate them a place them together at another time.
