I read the article of the above mentioned topic in the local paper here in Greenville, S.C. The article said that the D.N.R. was heading up the guidelines and requirements to obtain a permit. It stated that the D.N.R. had got help/input from local reputable hot keepers in the state to use as a basis to form the proposed law. My question is does anyone know who they
talked with?Secondly, is there any seasoned hot keepers ou there in the upsate area that could give a novice keeper some pointers/tips to help obtain the proposed permit? Then I could sometime in the near future change my nickname to HOT instead of Lukewarm.
Thanks in Advance for your help and happy herping to you all!

About 3 years ago, I personally spoke the the SC DNR about the laws at that time. I explained how GA is set up and that GA is too strict for the average keeper and referred them to the FL system and their guidlines. It appears that the combined both states' policies and came up with a system that regulates with out much discimination. I would much rather have SC laws than GA's. To get documentation as your handling expirence, you may want to try as many people as know that that have known of your expirence and get each to write out an affidavit as to extent of your expirence. Also, it would probably help to mention that you are not just keeping the snakes but are propagating a species for release in remote regions.
